TELL ME THAT SCHOOL ISN’T HARD
I KNOW YOU’RE GROWN UP
I KNOW YOU ARE MY PARENT
I KNOW YOU’VE ALREADY BEEN THROUGH THIS PART OF LIFE
BUT SCHOOL HAS GOTTEN HARDER
AND TEACHERS ARE UNFAIR TO ME AND ASSIGN TOO MUCH
AND THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN I AM TIRED
I CANNOT DO WORK
I CANNOT SUCCEED ON A TEST
I CANNOT FUNCTION
This needs to be more known to parents
420 is so close I can almost taste all the bad jokes I’ll have to weed through
A devastating disaster happened on April 15th. South Korean ferry Sewol sank which caused 28 deaths, 179 rescued, and most importantly 268 still missing out of 475 total who were on board. Shockingly, 325 of the passengers were high schoolers who were on a class field trip to Jeju island. On-board safety announcements informed passengers to stay in their places and put on life jackets to await rescues. Soon the ship began tilting over and there was no time for the passengers to escape. This horrible accident could have been prevented if the captain handled the situation professionally. However, he was THE FIRST one to get rescued and he abandoned the rest of the passengers who were trembling in fear. IF he made one brief announcement telling them to leave their room and come out to the deck immediately, this horrendous incident wouldn’t have happened. No word can express my condolences. Over 50 hours have passed and the cold water temperature even lowers the possibility of the remaining ones’ survival. I will pray for the lost ones and their families, the unknown survivors still trapped inside the ferry, and the brave divers/rescuers who are out in the cold and dangerous sea (considering the stormy weather these past 3 days). Keep strong South Korea and never lose hope.
do you ever get weirded out by the fact that everyone around you is constantly within their own mind and thinking a million secret thoughts and battling internal struggles just like you and that you’re not the only one who thinks these things and that the people around you aren’t just faces meant to fill up your life but they’re actually really deep people who have a lot more to them than you ever actually even think about

Three weeks ago, my friend Joe lost his father to a long battle with cancer. Earlier this week, Joe’s mother got in a fatal car accident which resulted in her death. Joe is a senior in high school and most of his money was already going towards paying bills for his family. Unfortunately, now he has no more close family and has the responsibility of paying for the funerals for both of his parents.
I know most of you probably won’t be able to help, but I knew it couldn’t hurt to spread the word. My school and community are trying to come together to raise money to help him out with the funeral expenses.
If there is any chance you are able to make any sort of financial donation to helping him out, please contact me on my personal blog for more information. Something like a $10-20 donation could help tremendously, but please remember that even the smallest amounts (even $1 if that’s all you can do) will be greatly appreciated.
Even if you can’t donate money, it would be wonderful if you could spread the word. Prayers and positive vibes sent his way could also be a great help. This is a tragic thing for someone at his age to be going through. Please do anything you can to help whether it’s donations, spreading the word, or prayers for him.
